Noureddine is passionate about his country’s rich history and provides a detailed, in depth commentary on the places visited, which really brings to life what you are seeing. He is a highly experienced guide and multi lingual, with a very warm and engaging personality which enables him to build rapport with you very easily. Is $237 per person or for the group?

For the group — up to three travellers. Split three ways that is about $79 each for a private car and a licensed guide for seven hours, which is a different proposition from the same number quoted per head.

What if we are four or more?

The listing is capped at three. Larger parties should look at the per-person private options in this catalogue, several of which get cheaper per head as the group grows.

Can we go on a Monday?

You can, but the Bardo will be shut, so you would be paying for a four-stop itinerary and seeing three. Move the booking a day if the mosaics are part of why you chose it.

Is lunch included?

No, and that is a design choice rather than an omission — the time a sit-down lunch takes is spent on the sites instead. Your guide will point you at somewhere in the medina or Sidi Bou Said if you want to stop.

What does a licensed guide add over a driver-host?

At Carthage, quite a lot. The site is spread out, heavily ruined and barely labelled, so most of what you are looking at only becomes legible when somebody explains it. That is the single biggest difference between the tours on this page.
