Three hours, on foot, with a licensed guide, covering the Salammbo Tophet, the Punic ports, the Antonine Baths, the Roman villas, Byrsa Hill, St Louis Cathedral and the aqueduct. Entry to the sites is included and the tour loops back to where it started.

Carthage today is a leafy residential suburb with ruins scattered through it, and a driving tour delivers you to three fenced enclosures without ever conveying that they were one city. On foot the distances register, the Punic layer and the Roman layer separate out, and the sea stays in view for most of it — the listing promises spectacular views back over Tunis, and it delivers them.

Due to the temperature walking tour was amended to car at my request (and very reasonable cost). Rania was excellent & even organised a car service to collect us from the hotel & back. Our driver was named Chaaben (local to Hammamet), he was lovely, asked if we had everything we needed & we felt very safe in his car (also very clean). Our guide for the day was Gigi, very knowledgeable, very friendly, knows alot of the other guides (good sign) & no where was off limits to him - he took us to some incredible sites & had wide variety of diagrams on his phone to further enhance our experience. Overall great value for money, very safe, great knowledge - highly recommend Le Lemon Tour.

Our guide GiGi/JiJi was absolutely phenomenal! His impressively deep knowledge of the history (both ancient and contemporary) of Carthage paired with his lively, engaging explanations brought the many archaeological sites to life for us! Three hours of walking went by in a flash as his storytelling kept us interested and enthralled; and throughout he was thoughtful and considerate, checking if we were comfortable or wanted more photos (he knows the best spots!) or needed a break etc. We had a fantastic time thanks to him, and highly highly recommend his professionalism and charm. NB he is fluent in English, Mandarin, French, Spanish… amazing! He had already done a full morning tour followed by a radio interview but he brought so much freshness and energy to his storytelling that we felt we were his only clients for the day. No. It is Carthage only, and that is the point — three hours buys real depth at one site instead of a circuit of two. Sidi Bou Said is a twenty-minute walk or one TGM stop further up the line if you want to add it yourself afterwards.
